The OGMS was founded in 1982 as a non-profit industrially oriented organisation for a comprehensive and sustainable promotion of technological developments in the focus area of microsystem technology to ensure and strengthen the competitiveness of Austria.

Main focus of the OGMS are technology transfer, the integration of research knowhow from diverse technologies to Austrian Industry, especially SMEs, the support of their research activities, investments as well as the expansion of national and international networks.
